Location, location, location: KC2 is located in the southernmost part of Riverdale, just within the northern border of New York City and only minutes away from Midtown.
Transportation includes:
• Local buses #10 and #20 and Express buses to both the West Side and East Side of Manhattan stop at the door. Express bus #18 is also available to Wall Street during morning and evening rush hours.
• The IRT #1 subway train entrance is just down the hill.
• The Metro North stop is within walking distance or with convenient shuttle service.
• Local car services are available for private door-to-door transportation locally or into the rest of the city.

Christen (P.S. 81) elementary schools and the Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy for middle and high school students, which is known as the number one feeder for specialized high schools in New York City. The prestigious Bronx High School of Science and John F. Kennedy High School nearby also serve the community. The neighborhood is home to three top-tier private schools: Horace Mann, Riverdale Country, and Fieldston - all members of the Ivy Preparatory School League. Two Roman Catholic colleges, Manhattan College and the College of Mount Saint Vincent, are also located here, along with the Academy for Jewish Religion trans-denominational rabbinical school. A local bus gets students to Lehman College and Fordham University.

Many shops and restaurants line the streets. Among the most popular restaurants and cafes are Liebman’s Kosher Delicatessen, Greek Express, Metate Mexican Restaurant, Anise, Indian Cuisine, Aoyu Sushi, Tin Marin Tapas Restaurant and Starbucks. About a mile away from KC2 are the stores and services of busy Broadway, including Staples, BJ's, Target, and Marshall’s.

The neighborhood is threaded with walking and biking trails and graced with some of the loveliest and liveliest parkland in the city, including Henry Hudson Memorial Park, Paul’s Park, Seton Park, Riverdale Park, and the Raoul Wallenberg Forest. Van Cortlandt Park, nearly twice the size of Central Park, is home to the historic Van Cortlandt mansion and has the Bronx’s largest freshwater lake. Fishing in Van Cortlandt is free, as it is at the three piers for fishing recently opened between the local Metro North Station and the Hudson River.
Wave Hill, a 28-acre cultural center and public garden located in the heart of Riverdale, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once a private estate, the Wave Hill House and Glyndor House on the grounds have been home to notables including Theodore Roosevelt, Mark Twain, and Arturo Toscannini. The gardens, and the secluded paths winding through ten acres of forest, overlook stunning vistas of the Hudson River and the Palisades.
